Applied Optics and Advanced Illumination Systems

Giovanni Tomasi, President and Founder in front of the Company’s products

About Us

The Skyler Technologies Group, Inc. was created in March 2001 by a group of executives from the fiber optics industry that realized the yet untapped potential of that technology in areas beyond telecommunications and data communication.

The Company founder, Mr. Giovanni Tomasi had held technical, managerial, and corporate positions in the fiber optics industry since 1982 and had experienced first hand the explosive expansion of the fiber optics technology in the commercial and in the military segments.  Mr. Tomasi’s belief was that the lighting and illumination industry was ready to experience similar if not greater growth given the right catalysts.

The Company’s philosophy, from its inception, has been one of  TECHNOLOGY AND TALENT AMALGAMATION – identify complementing technologies, companies, and professionals and bring these key components together in a creative environment to innovate and even completely revolutionize an industry.

Skyler’s first joint venture, RSL Fiber Systems, LLC, was formed with WPI Interconnect, Salem, New Jersey, on September 10, 2001.  Today RSL Fiber Systems is an approved supplier of fiber optic based lighting and advanced lighting systems to the US Navy.  RSLFS products are now expanding into the commercial markets.

A natural evolution in the Company’s growth was a partnering agreement with a company that had been gaining recognition as a provider of new control technologies and of standard marine instruments to the US Navy and to commercial marine customers.  A Partnering agreement was formed with C3I, Incorporated of Hampton, New Hampshire in 2003.  C3I President and Founder, Mr. Charles Wagner also took on the position of Chief Technology Officer for Skyler.

In July 2005, the Company opened operations in Italy in partnership with a well established company operating in the Rome region—Sud HCM s.r.l. to service the European commercial and military markets.
